The Mentor share's on celebration Sunday.

I already did the blog, and read the text of a blog intended for this site, and posted under another. I will cut and past later, so TMD has both. It was on the discourse site, and to spare

a contrecoup brain injury: a type of traumatic brain injury that occurs when the brain is injured on the opposite side of the head from where it was hit. The term "contrecoup" is French for "counterblow", ah yes, the Frencie's again. There are two relevant features for me, with the countrecoup concussion's. One, I probably suffered as many concussions as did Bret Farve, who ended up with a jelly brain and severe permanent brain injury syndrome, and two, long after graduating from medical school, I learned this word from a Perry Mason episode.

My sister saw the Will Smith movie on football concussion, and viewing it (which I still haven't done) was one of the last suggestions she ever gave me. She pledged after watching this movie that she would cease watching and supporting all college (U of O) and professional football. Like a life long drug addict, she relapsed into a fervent Oregon, Seattle and Green Bay fan. As I see it, the only permanent injury is a moderate to severe balance disability. You see, unlike Mr. Farve, I consumed thousands of quarts of carrot, garlic, celery and often beet juice from 1972 on, fasted many times every year since 1968, and have eaten predominantly organic foods throughout my life, though limited, my parent;s were not strict about these chemicals growing up, but our conventional foods were much less likely to have significant poison's on them. A phenomenon that I believe started in late 19th century Europe, only to be Trumped by the MAGA US.

Our theme for the day on all three blogs is once again Gratitude, and my quip, that these must be the most grateful time in human history. A philosophical truth, though it comes through the stoic and Lewis response to trauma as a guarantee that tomorrow will be better, and the best. Those who have followed will know this theme, and while "It was the best of time's, it was the worst of time's" is one of the single most famous opening lines of a book, the times of Napoleon were nothing compared, on the world front, like the menacing times of today. Even were we to somehow make the Russian and Israel conflict's end, these would still be the worst of times. And for that, Gtatitude should follow. Enjoy the Discourse podcast soon, as I correct the switch-a-roo.
