Saturday's spoken word:

Back in the saddle again. When you are trying to be a muse with your lyric's, there are a number of important elements and considerations. Who is the audience? Is there clarity in the words that guarantee's no possibility of mis interpretation of the message? Are you trying to entertain or inform? Does the melody and rhythm fit the message and the audience? Folk music and country music has the most basic and simple chord's and very singable chorus parts. To be a muse, you either have to have a near number one hit that permeates the culture and the repeated words soak into the conscious.

So for next week's spoken word; choose a subject, answer the above questions, get a pen, pad or keyboard and become the poet, with the message of the day. I will do this exercise as well, and next week, hopefully on zoom, we will share a song writing lesson.

Today, the muse, troubadour Harry Chapin.
