Inspired Tuesdays:

The week's theme remain's service with a smile, and this blog follow's the discourses blog on the same subject with a reference to a TV jingle with the same lyric's. Jingle's long preceded television and radio. Imitative in nature, like "sneeze" and "jabber", a jingle is usually meant to be both familiar and attractive, catchy is another desired quality of jingles. You can trust your car to the man who wear's the star, the big bright Texaco star, with a jingle short song, that alone could make you think of Texaco.

Jingles are a highly used tool of marketing, election's, movement's, early education, and the list goes on. Rarely however do jingles get utilized in words of wisdom. There is an obvious parallel in the mantras and short chants of Eastern Religions and to some extent the Latin prayer's which are meaningless to almost all Catholic's, but have a familiar ring to their utterances.

I employed self help jingle song's as part of my counseling technique. I learned the one posted below, as a melody for a self affirming lyric.

F        C Three little chillun, lyin' in bed F       C            G7           C Two was sick and the other almost dead! F      C Sent for the doctor, doctor said, F          C          G7         C 'Feed those chillun on shortenin' bread.' Chorus C Mama's little baby loves shortenin', shortenin', F                        G7           C Mama's little baby loves shortenin' bread. C Mama's little baby loves shortenin', shortenin', F                        G7           C Mama's little baby loves shortenin' bread.

The lyrics came from "the church of song" in Olympia, late 90's, and the word's go:

Every little cell in my body is happy,

every little cell in my body is well.

repeat

I'm so glad, I feel so good, 'cause

every little cell in my body is well.

On the pod cast I will play and teach this song. In the ultimate guitar app, these songs come up as "traditional" and are both common church and campfire songs. The can be simply and easily rearranged to any key that fits. The Vienna Boy's choir is a body that dies at puberty, even if they maintain a higher range than most. In the theme of the jingle, one of the most universally know songs of the 60's was the ballad of Jed Clampett. It should only take a single play for you to capture if you have been following these lesson's.
